Spots – they are an inconvenient, but completely normal part of life. Sadly though, they do have a habit of popping up at the worst of times. Like most people, I do suffer from the odd break out and to try and prevent them from happening regularly, I like to use face masks and spot treatments.
So, when Dermalogica offered to send me their Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask and Breakout Clearing Booster I was super excited. Many of you may also have seen that Made in Chelsea star and the most recent Queen of the Jungle, Georgia Toffolo has teamed up with the brand to promote the fizz mask.
Dermalogica as a brand are skin experts and are renowned around the world by skin care professionals who all fall at the feet of their wonderful products.
I have been familiar with the Dermalogica brand for a long time and have used several of their products in the past, so, I couldn’t wait to try these out too.
After trying out the products for the past couple of weeks, I’m finally ready to share my honest opinion with you all.
The Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask is a pore unclogging mask, which is a part of their Clear Start Range and is targeted specifically at teens and young adults. This mask is so different to any other mask I have ever used, it goes on as a yellow coloured gel, and fizzes up on the face within seconds.
You leave the mask to do its work for five minutes, then once you have washed it off it leaves skin feeling squeaky clean. You really get the feeling that the treatment has got deep down into your pores.
The Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask has so many wonderful ingredients in, including sulfur, kaolin clay, and apple fruit extract which all help with breakouts and blackheads while keeping skin ultra-hydrated.
Now, I think finding a fast-working breakout treatment is hard to come by. Many products claim to reduce inflammation and redness within minutes, but the reality is often disappointing results.
Since the brand sent me the Breakout Clearing Booster, I experienced a few annoying spots so this couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
The treatment comes in a clear gel form and is enriched with Salicylic Acid which is said to kill bacteria associated with breakouts in as little as just 15 minutes.
I can’t say I put it on and time 15 minutes and expect miracles, however I tend to apply it before bed and by the morning I can certainly feel that the spot has reduced in size and is quicker along the healing process.
I think the best thing about this product though is that it doesn’t dry your skin which I find most other quick-action spot treatments tend to do.
This clearing booster is suitable for oil and acne-prone skin, however, I have combination skin and it works perfectly for me.
Skincare is crucial for me and I have always believed that if you look after your skin, it will be kind to you.
