So, I recently went on a little spending spree and purchased one of the most popular luxury primers of 2018. After seeing this product on a number of YouTube channels, I knew I had to purchase it, test it out to see if it was actually worth the hype, and review it for you all.
So, after a week or so of using it every day, I finally have an opinion on this product and if you want to find out more, then just keep reading…
How the product looks is very important when you are spending more money! And, this screams luxury as it’s made of a heavy glass with a chrome lid and of course features the iconic YSL logo. Obviously, not made for travelling, this primer looks stunning in my makeup collection and stands out from all of my other primers. I also love that the glass is transparent, as not only can you see all the beautiful gold flakes floating around, (which make the product seem even more luxurious), but you can also see how much of the product is left, which is always handy. Overall, I’d definitely give YSL a 10/10 for packaging.
Moving on to the product itself. YSL claims that this primer evens the look of the skin tone, blurs pores and fine lines, whilst also helping your makeup last longer – and, YSL certainly hasn’t lied. This primer makes my skin look and feel amazing. I’ll even go as far as saying it’s one of the best primers that I’ve ever used. Formulated with four nourishing oils, it leaves the skin feeling so soft without being greasy, so it would be perfect for any skin tone. Immediately after applying this, I notice a difference in my skin – my pores seem smaller, my skin feels smoother and looks luminous (if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll know I love anything that makes my skin glow). With the tiny gold flakes running through the primer, they add a glow to the skin without being glittery, which looks beautiful underneath makeup.
I simply use one pump for my whole face and use my fingers to apply this before foundation, focusing on my t-zone. Considering this is a very high-end product, I do think it will last and take me a while to use the whole bottle, as I only need a small amount.
To put this to the test and keep it fair, I used other face products that I know work for me and I honestly do believe that this made a difference. The product not only looked flawless, but my makeup also lasted all day on my skin, and it’s all down to this primer.
Although some of you may think this product is expensive, I do believe that investing in your skin products is a must and this product is totally worth every penny.
