If you follow me on social media then you’ll know that on Wednesday it was my 20th birthday and this year I was lucky enough to have received the new Jo Malone ‘Green Wheat & Meadowsweet’ Cologne from her latest English Fields collection.
Jo Malone has been my go-to for fragrances for many years and has some of my favourite ever scents. So, when I saw that she had released this new collection I knew I had to get my hands on one.
I may have only had the scent for two days, but I have already gained enough of an opinion on it to share my thoughts with you all…
Firstly, the packaging of the bottle is beautiful. Presented in a two-tone matte bottle, it really stands out from all of my other perfumes. The only down side to the packaging is how much product it holds. Only available in 30ml bottles it’s pretty small for £47.00 – but you could argue that it’s the perfect product to take on your travels when your liquids are limited!
In terms of scent, I really didn’t expect this to smell the way it does. Described as ‘crisp and fresh’ mixed with a twist of grapefruit, I expected it to smell quite fruity, but in actual fact it’s a very clean and subtle scent – perfect for spring.
One of my personal dislikes with some scents is that despite how much you spray on yourself, the scent disappears throughout the day. So, whenever I purchase/ get bought a new scent, one of the first things I look for is how well it lasts on the skin. Unsurprisingly this perfume stays all day and I would expect nothing less from Jo Malone – I knew I could always count on Jo to come up with not only a lush smelling scent but one that stays with you all day.
Overall, I would highly recommend that you head to your nearest Jo Malone store and try out this scent, and if this one isn’t for you… I’m sure you will find your perfect match in one of the other four from the collection.
