Luxury Makeup Haul

One of my goals for 2018 is to start putting more money into my savings account. So, I treated my December pay cheque as my last chance for a real makeup splurge. I really went for it when browsing my favourite sites – I wanted to get products for a full face of makeup, so everything from base to highlighter! Why not, eh?

So, I thought I would share with you all the luxury items I have recently welcomed into my makeup collection…

Since I had a gift card for John Lewis, I decided to pick up both the ‘Scandalust’ Eyeshadow Palette and the Under(Cover) Coconut Face Primer, which have been on my wishlist for some time now.  I’ve only had these for about a week and yet I’m already in love with them both. Although that’s not surprising as Marc Jacobs has to be one of my favourite luxury makeup brands.

Whilst browsing the John Lewis website, (always a dangerous site for me to be on), I couldn’t help but notice that the Bobbi Brown highlighter from their Christmas collection was on sale and I knew I had to get my hands on it! I haven’t got around to using it yet, as it is a very recent addition, but from swatching it on my hand, I know I’m going to love it.

As I was shopping for a full face of makeup, a new foundation was one of the top priorities on my list and I was instantly drawn to the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. After using it every day for the past week I can strongly recommend you add it to your ‘must buy’ list. It’s so lightweight on the skin and yet lasts all day long!

I get through concealers quite quickly as they are an everyday essential for me, so while shopping I thought I may as well buy two! The first one I went for was the YSL All Hours Concealer, which has to be one of the best concealers I’ve tried. And, the second concealer that I can’t help but return to, time and time again, was my trusted Tarte Shapetape. I have a full review on Shapetape on my blog, if you want to read my detailed opinion of this concealer click here.

Tarte had free shipping, so while I was purchasing my concealer I thought I would take full advantage of that and bought myself the Goddess Glam Eye and Cheek Set which was from their holiday collection. I’ve not tried too much from Tarte, but this palette is stunning and has persuaded me to explore the brand further.

Now, moving onto Urban Decay, another of my favourite high-end makeup brands. The first item I found myself adding to my basket was the Naked Flushed palette in the shade ‘Sesso’, which combines bronzer, highlighter and blush. The second being the Highlighting Fluid in the shade ‘Sin’, which I haven’t tried before, and am excited to start using soon.

My highlighter buying didn’t end with the Urban Decay highlighting fluid though. If you’ve read my blog for a while now, you’ll know that I love highlighters, especially for everyday wear, so I also picked up the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade ‘Moonlight’ . As well as this, I opted for the NARS Illuminator in the shade ‘Laguna’.

Finally, my splurge ended on the Space NK site, and seeing as I had a gift card, I decided to purchase another Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in the shade ‘Diffused Bronze Light’, as this is my absolute favourite formula of bronzer.

It’s safe to say that I won’t be doing any makeup shopping for a while after that large haul, but I’m super happy with all of my purchase decisions.

What’s your most recent makeup purchase? Let me know in the comments, or on Twitter @Emstagramr.
