Simple Christmas Party Makeup

‘Tis the season where we all have different glamorous events to attend, and with this comes choosing the right makeup look for you. We’ve all been there, deciding what products last the longest on the skin but also look the best. So, I’ve made it a little easier for you all and shared with you my Christmas party makeup that will last all night long…

Prepping the skin-

Before applying any makeup it’s always good to properly prep your skin with the right products. I washed and cleansed my face with the REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser and I also moisturised with the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser. Both of these products leave my skin glowing and hydrated, meaning that my makeup goes on perfectly.

The eyes-

I personally like to start with my eyes as it means if I make any mistakes I can clean up as I go without ruining any of my foundation. For this eye look, I kept it simple because I’ve decided to pair it with a bold lip colour and even though I stuck to using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, this look is still very glam. To start, I simply buffed ‘Milk Chocolate’ into my crease with a blending brush. I then used the Tom Ford Cream Colour in the shade ‘Opale’ all over my lid to add a sparkle to the eyes. After applying this, I then used the same blending brush as before to deepen my crease with ‘Triple Fudge’. To make my lid pop even more, I used my finger to apply ‘Crème Brulee’ and finally to complete the eye look I lined my eyes lightly with ‘Gilded Ganache’ with a liner brush and added a good few layers of mascara.

The base-

Once the eyes are complete, I then primed my skin with the YSL Touche Eclat Primer and applied one of my favourite foundations – The Ordinary Coverage Foundation. This duo is perfect for those of you who love a full coverage base but don’t like to feel like your skin is caked.

If you’ve read my blog before, you’ll know that I love to use liquid products on my skin as I believe they last much longer and leave a natural glow. To bronze, I used my favourite Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Bronzer and to highlight, I used the Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops. Both of these products are beautiful and I like to apply them on my cheek bones and forehead.

After I did my bronzer and highlight, I applied the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer under my eyes and under where I bronzed to clean up and make my cheek bones stand out.

Once all the cream products have been applied, I quickly set everything with MAC Studio Fix Powder, adding a lighter shade under my eyes and I also applied a light dusting of bronzer and highlight.

The highlight that I LOVE to wear to any party is the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero ‘Forever Lit’ as it’s truly blinding and everyone needs to glow this Christmas.

Finally, once all of my base makeup was complete, I returned to my eyes and added more of the ‘Gilded Ganache’ shade to my under eye.

The Lips-

As it’s Christmas, I feel as if it’s only appropriate to opt for a dark lip. My two favourites for this time of year is Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in ‘Velvet Slipper’ or MAC Versicolour Stain in the shade ‘Perpetual Holiday’.  Both these shades are perfect for the season and will last through any party! However, if you’re not comfortable with a dark lip, then the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline lipstick in ‘Erin’ is a perfect match for this makeup look!

If you want to add a little definition to the lips, highlight your cupids bow with your chosen highlight.

I LOVE this makeup look! It not only looks flawless and glowy but it also lasts all night on the skin and screams Christmas glam!
