Buy or Bye? Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation and Concealer.

Rimmel have recently launched a new Lasting Finish foundation and concealer, which both claim to be a lightweight and breathable formula that can be built from light to medium coverage. So, I thought I would put these to the test and try them out to see if they really are that good.

I received both of these products, the Kate Moss Sculpting Palette and a Moisture Renew Lipstick in my first ever Influenster VoxBox*, and honestly, I was so excited and tried the products out straight away as I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts with you all.

Starting with the foundation. When buying a foundation, I do typically like something with a dewy finish and something quite natural and this foundation meets those needs.  With a light-medium coverage, this foundation can be built up if you want to. It has a beautiful satin finish that really looks like your skin and doesn’t feel heavy at all. When applying this, I simply use the doe-foot applicator to swipe the product on my face and blend in with my Real Techniques Beauty Sponge. After applying the rest of my cream products to my face, I then powder with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and I’m good to go!

I typically don’t like wearing drugstore foundations as I find them all to oxidise on me. However, I am honestly shocked with how lovely this foundation colour is, and it truly is a breathable product that lasts all day on the skin. Although most might think that this foundation would be better in the summer months, I actually think it’s perfect for autumn and winter as it won’t dry out my skin and gives it a much-needed winter glow.

Moving onto the concealer, I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this. The product itself is lovely; the concealer is medium coverage and perfect for both highlighting my under the eyes and covering my dark circles. It lasts all day, when paired with the foundation, and doesn’t crease. However, the only thing that I don’t like is the packaging, with a sponge tip on the concealer it makes it a little difficult to squeeze the product out. Similar to the foundation, I apply this with the tip and blend in with a sponge and set. Overall, I probably won’t be repurchasing this concealer as I have others that I prefer more.

As I mentioned, in the VoxBox I also received the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette which is beautiful and super easy to keep in my ‘on the go’ makeup bag. The star of the box for me has to be the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade ‘Vintage Pink’. I LOVE this lipstick, I’ve found it to be so hydrating on the lips but so pigmented. The shade itself is so flattering for my skin tone, and I’ve been wearing it ever since I opened the box, it’s definitely a new favourite.

Overall, if you’re looking for a new foundation and concealer duo then you should 100% check out the new Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable range. With a lightweight formula that lasts all day on the skin, and leaves you with a healthy glow this foundation has to be a new favourite of mine!

  1. Thanks Emma! I’m so with you on the lightweight sheer coverage and dewy foundation. I’m glad you pointed this out since drugstore foundations can’t be tested.

  2. I like the foundation applicator, looks so practical! And that sponge tip reminds me of the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer (one of my faves 🙂 ). Would love to give these a try, thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤

    1. I personally don’t think this would be a good option! Unless you powdered properly! For oily skin, I would recommend Maybelline’s Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation! X
