If you’ve read my latest makeup haul, you’ll know that I recently picked up the Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer. After reading so many amazing reviews of this product, I thought it was time for me to pick it up and see if it truly is worth the hype. And now, one week later I’m here sharing my thoughts with you all.
As usual, I’ll start with the packaging. This concealer is beautiful on the outside, with a glass tube and gold lid. However, despite it looking great in my makeup collection it doesn’t make me want to repurchase this product any time soon and here’s why…
Under the eyes this product is not so great. After testing it out in different ways, on its own or on top of another full coverage concealer, I’ve found that it doesn’t brighten or conceal my dark under eye circles which is obviously not what you want for a concealer. Although it doesn’t crease, blends beautifully and lasts all day long, I still have a lot of other concealers that I prefer.
Typically, I like to use a super high coverage brightening concealer under my eyes and this just doesn’t do it for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lovely product and if you like a concealer that is both natural and long lasting then this would be perfect for you but it’s just not something I will be repurchasing.
Despite it’s faults, there are some positives. This concealer not only feels very lightweight on the skin but also stays on my face all-day long. I find it’s perfect for blemish concealing and it blends flawlessly onto the skin with a beauty sponge, and doesn’t seem to oxidise on me. Since I am lucky and rarely get breakouts, this works perfectly for natural makeup days I can simple swipe it on, blend and I’m good to go.
Overall, I will definitely be keeping this concealer for any blemish concealing as it’s perfect for those natural makeup days but unfortunately will not be repurchasing.
I hope this review helps you out with deciding if the Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer would be something that you should purchase.
