Online shopping has got to be a secret, (well not so secret), obsession for me. I love testing out new makeup and adding to my collection. So, it’s that time again where I get to share all of my most recent purchases, as well as my first impressions of them.
First up, I’m going to talk about one of the most luxury items that I purchased, which is the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer. Not only did I purchase this to see what all of the hype was about, but I also wanted to put it to the test in a future blog post for you all, and I’m so excited to try it!
Whilst browsing Debenhams, I also decided to pick up the bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this, but I was in desperate need of a new powder and thought I’d try it out for myself. So far, I must admit that I do like this – it sets my makeup beautifully and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
The next item that I purchased was the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. I’ve been eyeing this up for a while now, as I’ve been on the hunt for a concealer that is high coverage and lasts all day, and from the reviews this seemed to be perfect for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE my NARS and my Urban Decay concealers, but I thought I’d try something different. Again, I haven’t used this yet, but I can’t wait to start – from swatching it feels thick and creamy, which is the perfect consistency for me!
Recently, my Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser ran out, so I thought this time I’d try something new. After researching the best summer moisturisers, I finally decided to buy the Origins ‘GinZing’ Energy Boosting Moisturiser and I’m so glad I did. This smells amazing, and leaves my skin feeling super hydrated without appearing oily. I would definitely recommend this to any of you with combination skin.
During my day of shopping, I also purchased a new Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick as mine recently ran out. If you’ve read my review of this product, which you can find here, you’ll know that I LOVE this product. It’s creamy, easy to use, and it’s mega affordable. If you’re looking for an affordable cream contour then you need to get this.
Since Rimmel is currently on offer for buy one, get one half price, I obviously couldn’t turn this down, so I picked up the Rimmel Wonder’full Waterproof mascara. I must admit, I don’t love this. I’ve found that it doesn’t really do much for my lashes when I apply it on its own; however, it does work perfectly with other mascaras. So, it’s completely down to personal preference with this – if you like layering mascaras then you’ll like this, if you don’t then you probably won’t!
That’s all for this month’s makeup haul, and I can’t wait to fully try all these items out. As usual if any of you want a more detailed review of any of the products, let me know in the comments below or on Twitter – @Emstagramr.
