Makeup Empties: Re-buy or Goodbye?

So, it’s been over three months since my last empties post, and as you can probably guess, I have accumulated quite a few products. As always, I’ve got a mixture of makeup and beauty items, but more so makeup, which surprises me as they aren’t usually that easy to finish. Here are the products that I’ve recently used up and a mini review of them all.

Beauty Empties-

Firstly, I have two products that are a natural part of my empties: shampoo and conditioner. The products I’ve been using are the Garnier Coconut Water and Aloe Vera shampoo and conditioner. I have a full review of these on my blog already, so I won’t go into too much detail but I love these. They made my hair feel so healthy and hydrated without weighing it down. Considering they’re only £2.50 each, I will definitely be repurchasing these.

The next non-makeup empty that I recently used up was another bottle of my Vivienne Westwood Boudoir Perfume. This is certainly one of my favourite perfumes; it lasts all day on the skin and smells beautiful. However, I don’t like how quickly the bottle runs out. So, I’m not sure if I will be repurchasing this any time soon.

Makeup Empties-

The first makeup item that I used up is my all-time favourite face powder, the Urban Decay Naked Skin Pressed Powder. I’ve already gone through two of these, as it truly is a great powder that leaves your skin looking flawless all day long. Although not the cheapest powder on the market, I’ve found this to last a long time as I’ve had mine since June and have used it every day. If you are looking for a new powder that doesn’t totally mattify the skin but sets your makeup in place perfectly, then you NEED this in your life.

Keeping with Urban Decay, I have two empty Naked Skin Concealers. Again, this concealer is one of my favourites (just in case you couldn’t tell from the fact I’ve used up two of them!). I love this concealer as it feels so lightweight on my skin whilst still providing a high coverage. I will 100% be repurchasing this concealer in the future, but at the moment I’m testing out something new, which I will review for you all soon!

Over the past few months, I’ve also used up a travel-sized Smashbox Primer Water. I really did not like this. It wasn’t necessarily a bad product, I just didn’t really understand the point in using it – I tried it both before and after applying my makeup, and don’t think it made a difference, so I won’t be repurchasing this. #SorryNotSorry

Moving on to mascara: I have been using the Collection Waterproof Lengthening Mascara and was sad when this dried up. Mascara is something that we should all only keep for 3 months, but let’s be honest, we’ve all kept them longer than that and I used this right up until I couldn’t any more. I ADORE this, when layered with other mascaras. Since it’s a lengthening mascara, I’ve found that it pretty much only lengthens, so I do have to use another product to add a little more definition but when I do it makes my lashes look amazing! It’s only £3.99 too so a real bargain.

The final item for my makeup empties is my MAC Refined Golden Bronzer, which recently featured in my ‘favourite bronzers‘ blog post. I must admit I already have a backup of this being used as I knew I couldn’t be without it so made sure I stocked up! This bronzer is an all-year-round staple product for me as it works perfectly both when I’m pale in winter and in summer when I have a little bit of a tan. I know from the picture, there is product still left in the pan, but I’ve had this for years and my brush doesn’t pick up an even amount of product, so it’s time to let it go.

I can’t wait to find out which items will be on my next empties post. What products have you finished recently? Will you be re-buying or saying goodbye to them? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter – @Emstagramr.

  2. Ha, we’ve all definitely used mascara way longer than 3 months. I will have to keep my eyes peeled for the shampoo and conditioner.. always looking for good ones to try.
