Summer Essentials Haul

Now that we’re in full blown summer weather, I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity for me to share with you all my summer 2017 beauty essentials haul, courtesy of Chemist.co.uk*. With it being warm outside and the season for a sunny holiday, I’m sure you want to know the best beauty products, that I would recommend this summer and Chemist.co.uk kindly gifted me with a £50 voucher to spend on their site. Any excuse to shop, right?

hhhhhhhh

First up, we have two products that have been part of my haircare routine for years now, the Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo and conditioner. I recently ran out of my shampoo and conditioner and decided to go back to this combo. These are perfect for the summer months when your hair is feeling a little dry from the sea and sun, as not only do they smell amazing but they leave your hair feeling hydrated and healthy. When using this combination, I’ve found that I can go up to five days without washing my hair, which is great if your lead a busy lifestyle!

Since I have blonde hair, I always want to make sure it looks fresh, so I like to tone my hair myself in between hair appointments. I love the Jerome Russel Blonde Toners, and for this season I decided to pick up the Silver shade. I adore this, especially in summer, as it not only brightens up my hair but also adds a tone of silver, which I think really suits me. Compared to other toners, this leaves my hair feeling healthy whilst still eliminating any brassiness. If you’re blonde and want to add a touch of silver to your look then you need this!

Keeping with haircare, I also added two dry shampoos from Batiste to my order (one travel size and one regular size). Since I try to only wash my hair once a week, dry shampoo is honestly my best friend in summer and I desperately needed to stock up. Out of all the dry shampoos that I’ve tried, I have to say that Batiste is the best. All their products smell wonderful, and they add volume and texture – what more could you want from a dry shampoo?

Since I love to glow all year round, and unfortunately due to the lack of sun have had to fake my sun-kissed look this season, I picked up the Dove Summer Glow in the shade light. I’ve used this in the past and know that it’s amazing so I thought, why not use it again? This moisturiser creates a beautiful tanned glow to your skin without making you look orange or leaving you smelling like fake tan. It’s very natural whilst still making it seem like you’ve spent a few hours in the sun! I simply apply this at night after I’ve showered and wake up feeling like a bronzed goddess.

hhhhhh

Now, I couldn’t do a blog post without mentioning some form of makeup so I also picked up the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin’ Curves Mascara. Mascara has to be a staple all year round for me, if I’m not wearing it then my face feels naked. I haven’t heard much about this mascara, but I’m excited to try it out for summer and let you all know my thoughts.

hhhhhhh

To go with the mascara, I also picked up the L’Oréal Skin Micellar Gel Makeup Remover as makeup wipes are a no-go for me in summer. I like to use micellar makeup removers as they’re just so quick and easy to use. Unlike other micellar makeup removers, this is so much easier to use as it’s a gel rather than a water, so it doesn’t tend to drip down my face! I’ve only used this a couple of times so far, but I’ve really been enjoying it! It not only gets rid of my eye makeup in one swipe, but it also doesn’t sting my eyes. So if you have sensitive eyes then why not pick this up?

Last year, I fell in love with a few of the Victoria’s Secret Body Mists so when I found out that Chemist.co.uk stocked a selection of them I knew I needed to pick one up. I chose the scent Aqua Kiss as it sounded perfect for the summer months, and I’m so glad I did. This smells DELICIOUS and lasts all day on the skin. It’s going to be staying in my handbag for the rest of the season, that’s for sure.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The final two items that I picked up for summer were two lip balms. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll know that lip balm is one thing that I couldn’t live without. Firstly, I chose the Dr Paw Paw Tinted Peach Balm, as I thought this would be great to add a pop of colour to my lips this summer. I’ve been using the original Dr Paw Paw balm and love it; I’ll even go as far as saying that it’s one of my favourites and the peach-tinted balm is just as good. The next lip balm I picked up is the Carmex SPF15 Pomegranate Lip Balm. Again, Carmex is one of my favourite brands and I decided to get this as it has SPF15, which makes it a MUST HAVE for summer. This smells lovely and certainly keeps my lips hydrated all day long without feeling sticky, for only £2.79, you need to try this out.

When it comes to beauty in the summer I like to keep it very minimal: glowy skin, a coat of mascara, and nourished hair. So, I hope this simple summer haul gave you all some inspiration for your summer shopping. What products have you recently purchased for this season?
