Liquid highlight – one of the best makeup products that I have ever used. I love the way you can brighten your face without making it look greasy and how they add a glow with minimal effort. If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know by now, I really dislike matte looking skin on myself, and feel that liquid highlight is the way forward for summer 2017. So I thought, with so many on the market, at the moment, I would share with you all my top five liquid highlights and why they’re so good…
Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in the shade ‘Dew You?’
This is probably my favourite liquid highlighter in my collection, and I will certainly be repurchasing when this runs out. I have a full blog post about this highlighter, which you can view here if you want a little more information. First, let’s talk packaging. This comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a white lid which feels and looks luxurious, and the product inside is absolutely stunning. Infused with coconut water, coconut milk, coconut polysaccharides, coconut alkanes, and coconut fragrance, the product smells great. With a creamy gel texture, packed with ultra-fine shimmers, the drops add the perfect Champagne glow for summer, and I couldn’t recommend this anymore. (I find that this works best mixed into my foundation or primer product)
The Estee Edit Flash Illuminator in the shade ‘Sun Light’
As the name implies this liquid illuminator, adds a lovely sun-kissed glow to the cheeks. The product comes in a pump dispenser and is a multi-purpose product that you can use on top of the skin, as a base, or mixed in with any foundation (my personal favourite way to use it is before foundation, on the top of my cheekbones). I adore this; it stays all day and gives the skin a soft glow. Since they are discontinuing The Estee Edit, I’m not sure what I’m going to do when this runs out as it truly is amazing!
Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid in the shade ‘Light’
Typically, I don’t reach for drugstore makeup, especially skin products, as it causes me to break out. However, with this product I have found an exception. (For a review of the shade medium click here). The shade Light is described as a pink Champagne ideal for a lighter skin tone; however, I think it would look wonderful on any skin tone depending on what kind of highlight you like. The longevity of this is pretty good; it leaves a glow to my skin all day long and I barely feel it moving on my face throughout the day. For the price, it definitely has to be one of my favourites – it’s easy to apply, super pigmented, and blends like a dream; what more could you want? If you’re on a budget and want to glow all summer long then you should try this out!
Tom Ford Skin Illuminator in the shade ‘Fire Lust’
I must admit, I bought this product on a whim and didn’t do too much research before I bought it, but I’m so glad I did. It’s a sheer luminous peachy-pink illuminator that looks beautiful on a natural/no makeup day. Typically, I don’t usually go for a natural glow, but this is too beautiful to not love. I have found that this product works best on top of foundation applied with the fingertips for a subtle sheen to the skin. If you have the budget then you need to get this product.
NARS Liquid Illuminator in the shade ‘Copacabana’
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now then you’ll know this has been a favourite of mine for a while; it’s a product that I certainly couldn’t live without. Copacabana is a pearly Champagne shade with hints of pink tones to it. Similar to the Maybelline Strobing Liquid, this has a very noticeable shimmer to it when blended, so it’s certainly not for you natural makeup lovers. However, if you love a dramatic glow then make sure you do check this out. If you’re worried about the price, I’ve had mine for a year now and it’s still going strong, so you definitely get a lot of product for your money!
Left to right- Estee Edit Illuminator, Marc Jacobs Dew Drops, Tom Ford Illuminator, Maybelline Stobing Liquid, NARS Illuminator.
If you want to try out a liquid highlighter and haven’t yet, I would 100% recommend trying out any of the above and you may just become as obsessed as I am!

All of these sounds awesome but that Nars highlighter really caught my eye. I love liquid highlighters but I usually put powder over the top of my foundation so I find if I use liquid highlighters it makes the texture of my foundation go a bit funny sadly, because so many liquid highlighters are SO gorgeous.
