For me, shopping is one of the best things in the world! I love it and could do it all day every day. So, since I went on a little shopping spree to start August off with a bang, I thought I’d share with you what I purchased-
First up, we have The Estee Edit Gritty & Glow palette. Since all of The Estee Edit is on sale at the moment, due to it being discontinued, I couldn’t not take a look at their stand in Selfridges. As soon as I saw the highlighting palette, I knew I needed it and to my surprise it came in a pack of two! So far, I’ve been loving both of the palettes and have used them every day since buying. Starting with the eye shadow palette, within the palette you get six beautifully pigmented, pearlised shades ranging from golds to greens to browns. When I first saw this, I fell in love but wasn’t sure when I would ever get to use some of the shades such as the blue and green; however, I’ve found that the shades I wouldn’t typically use, I have been using and loving how they look! Similarly, the highlighting palette comes with a range of six shades, which are all beautifully blinding and pigmented – I couldn’t not get this! If you like the look of this palette, you need to get it before it’s gone!
Eye shadow left to right- Trip, Mood, Wavy, Burn, Riff and Swerve.
Highlight left to right-Snowlit, 14K Glow, 1sr Light, Gleam, Ray and Beachy.
Another item that I purchased from The Estee Edit was the Flash Illuminator in the shade ‘Sun Light’, which as the name suggests, adds a lovely sun-kissed glow to the cheeks. This comes in a pump dispenser and is a multi-purpose product that you can use on top of the skin, as a base or mixed in with any foundation (my personal favourite way to use it is before foundation). I adore this; it stays all day and gives the skin a soft glow.
Once you’ve finished reading this post, you’ll start to see a theme with the products, as they all seem to be illuminating, but as you all probably know, I love the look of dewy bronzed skin and can’t get enough of highlighting/bronzing products.
The next product that I decided to purchase is the Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick in the shade medium. Now, I’m not the most confident person with cream contouring and I really wanted the KKW Beauty Contour stick, but I thought I would try this before shelling out the big bucks. The double-ended stick has been created to achieve natural-looking or bold sculpted looks depending on what you are going for. I’ve used this every day since I purchased it, and this is one of the best contour sticks that I have ever tried! The contour side is so creamy and blends like a dream whilst still leaving pigment on your skin. It lasts all day and is so easy to use – one swipe and a quick blend, and you’re done! The highlighting side is also very creamy and easy to use! If you struggle with cream contouring then you NEED this product in your life!
Whilst browsing on the Superdrug website, I also noticed that Rimmel has just brought out matte liquid lipsticks and so, I obviously had to try one out! I purchased the shade ‘Be My Baby’. I haven’t tried this yet, but from swatching on my hand, I can tell I’m going to like it!
Before I went on my shopping spree, I decided to do some research on the Cover FX Enhance Clicks and read some lovely reviews, so whilst I was in Selfridges I decided to pick up the shade ‘Bubbly’. It wasn’t until I got home that I realised how small this actually was. Although slightly disappointed in the size, the actual product inside is stunning. It’s a cream highlight that I like to apply directly onto my cheeks and unlike the custom enhancer drops, which I adore, this is much more toned down and works best for my more natural makeup days.
Last but not least for makeup, we have the item I’m most excited to talk about, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glow in Perla – a white gold highlighting shade. As soon as I received an email from ABH saying that the Liquid Glow had arrived in the UK, I purchased it in a matter of seconds. So far, I’ve only had a little play around with this, but I can tell I’m going to love it and want to purchase all of the shades!
Finally, one of the biggest purchases for the month of August is my two bunnies, Bonnie and Blue! Earlier in the month, I decided that I wanted to get a rabbit so after a long day of searching my partner and I finally fell in love with two little Lion-Head bunnies, one grey and one black, and I finally got to pick them up last weekend! They’re now eight weeks old and loving life! Feel free to follow them on Instagram – @Bunstagrammers!
It’s safe to say that I won’t be going on another shopping spree anytime soon (well until next pay day), but I’m so excited to put all of these products to the test and if any of you want a more detailed review of any of the products, let me know in the comments below or on Twitter – @Emstagramr.
