If you’ve been keeping up with my blog for a while then you’ll know that I am in love with my Sleek ‘Precious Metals Highlighting Palette’, and so when I saw that Sleek were coming out with a new palette, it went straight into my basket!
So, here are my thoughts on the brand new Sleek Distorted Dreams Highlighting Palette.
Sleek highlighters are definitely known for their low price point and excellent quality, and this one is no exception – in fact, I think they’ve stepped up their game! At only £10.99, for five luminescent holographic shades, you really can’t go wrong.
Let’s start with packaging. The packaging for this palette is beautiful and looks high end; it also comes with a very large mirror, which is perfect for travelling!
The three cream highlighters in this palette include an iridescent green with glitters, a beautiful blue with glitters, and a gold pink duo chrome. If you’re new to the highlighting trend, then don’t be scared of the shades in this palette – they add to your makeup look without leaving a blue or green tint to your cheeks, I promise. The powder shades in the palette are just as beautiful: one shade is a shimmery gold and the other, a violet with pink-purple glitters. With a variety of shades available to choose from, which can be used on both the cheeks and eyes, I think this palette is suitable for all skin tones and will give a different effect on everyone.
In terms of formula, the creams are very gel-like and glossy, and I’ve found that they work best when applied with the fingers. I’ve also found that the creams work best when built up, but that depends on how much of a highlight you like (I like it to be strong). However, the powders are butter soft whilst still very pigmented and work perfectly with a fan brush!
Holographic highlighting is a huge trend at the moment and Sleek is certainly not behind. If you’re on the market for a new highlighting palette and don’t want to spend a lot of money then you need to try this product out!
