It’s no secret that I LOVE to splurge on makeup. I feel like if I’m putting it on my skin, then it’s an investment I’m willing to make. So, to keep up with this week’s blog theme I thought I would write a blog post letting you know what my top 5 high-end beauty buys are!
#1- First up, I’m going to start with the most luxurious item that I own, the Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Colour (£70) in the shade Eton Moi, a beautiful deep berry lipstick. Before I mention the formula itself, I want to mention that the packaging of this is stunning, it even looks amazing as a display piece! This matte lipstick is a dream, it has an intense rich pigment with a soft finish, and applies with full coverage in one stroke! I understand it may be too pricey for some, but I am a firm believer in self indulgence now and again!
#2- Sticking to the theme of lips, the next item on my best luxury buys list is the Dior Addict Lip Glow (£25), a ‘barely there’ balm that enhances your natural lip colour! The scent of this reminds me of vanilla ice cream (but not too sweet) and once on, it holds for a few hours and moisturises well, perfect for keeping the lips healthy in the sun. I would HIGHLY recommend this to those who like a natural tint to their lips!
#3- Since summer is coming up a cream bronzer is a must and I’ve been loving the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (£36)! I truly believe that Chanel have found the perfect balance with the formula. It’s a beautiful cream-gel texture, which applies smoothly and glides onto the skin flawlessly. The shade of this is perfect for the natural sun kissed look. I think it would suit all skin tones and skin types.
#4- Another Chanel product that I’m in love with is the Chanel Poudre Universelle Pressed Powder (£36). Firstly, the packaging is super sleek, simple, classy, and comes with a velvet pouch, and there’s a big mirror in there which is perfect for on the go! (It looks beautiful in my makeup bag).
From my first impression, I wasn’t sure about this powder, as I found it didn’t really do much, but now I’m ready for summer, I find that it’s perfect for a light dusting on my face. The pressed powder is very finely milled, with a light fragrance but nothing too overpowering! I would say that it leaves a very lightweight finish that gets rid of the shine without leaving my face feeling flat! I also found that with this powder, I didn’t have to touch up during the day, but if you have slightly oilier skin than I do, then you may need to carry it around with you! Overall, I love this – it’s definitely worth the price tag!
#5- Finally, on my list is my all-time favourite high-end foundation: the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (£40). The finish of this foundation is flawless, whether applied with a sponge or a brush. Don’t be fooled by the name luminous, it doesn’t leave the skin looking shimmery or shiny, but leaves a soft glow that lasts all day! A little amount of product goes a long way, and the bottle lasts a long time too, meaning the investment is well worth it!
Investing in a high-end foundation is definitely a good idea as I believe they work better for your skin, so if you’re looking for a new foundation, I couldn’t recommend this product anymore!
If you couldn’t tell already, I LOVE trying high-end products and I highly recommend all of these products to you! I’ve had them all for a good amount of time now, and they’ve proven to be worth the price!
