Every Last Drop

A month ago, I decided to keep a box full of empty products that I’ve used up, just in case I got enough products to write a blog post on. Recently, it’s been overflowing, so I thought now would be the perfect opportunity to tell you all what I’ve been loving and using up throughout the months.

Starting off with face products, I recently finished the MAC Select Cover-up concealer and the MAC Pro-Longwear Concealer. Firstly, I feel as though finishing these is an achievement, as they both lasted forever! Secondly, I probably could get more product out of them but they’re so old, I feel like it’s time to let them go! I did really like the Select Cover-up as it definitely kept the promise of great coverage and it blended like a dream; however, I have so many concealers on my wish list I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing anytime soon. On the other hand, the MAC Pro-Longwear is one of my all-time favourites, it has both a stunning finish and full coverage for under the eye concealing, and I have already repurchased!

If you didn’t know, MAC have a system where you can collect six empty products and exchange them for a lipstick of your choice, so I always keep all my empty MAC items for BACK TO MAC.

The next item which technically isn’t used up either, is the Illamasqua Gleam in the shade Supernatural. I need to throw this out as I’ve had it over a year and the product has lost its beautiful texture. I adore this product, so much in fact that I have another one on the go already! If you love the bronzed-dewy skin look, then you need to try this out. When applied as a sheer layer, this looks so beautiful and adds a little bronzed glow to the skin! If you’re pale, don’t fear this product, I think it’ll look perfect on any skin tone!

I also finished the Stila One Step Bronze this month, I won’t go on about this too much as if you’ve read my blog you’ll probably be bored of me talking about it but I love this and have already repurchased!

The last makeup item that I’ve used up is the NARS Pressed Powder in Beach, which provides a sheer, natural coverage that leaves your complexion looking not too matte and not too dewy. I loved this. It truly is one of the softest and silkiest powders that I have ever used and I definitely want to repurchase this soon!

I also used up the second bottle of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel! Before I started using this, I never found a go-to cleanser as I was never too fussy but I must admit, this is a keeper! I double wash with this, the first wash is to take my makeup off and the second to cleanse my skin! I usually use a makeup remover wipe for my eyes, but if I forget, then this takes my eye makeup off perfectly! For just £3.99, you need to try this out!

Moving onto hair care, I finally used up the Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner! Don’t get me wrong, I finished the conditioner at the beginning of April and the shampoo a few days ago, does anyone else’s conditioner run out first? If you only wash your hair twice a week, or want to train your hair to wash it less frequently, then this combination is perfect! Both the shampoo and conditioner are lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh down my hair. Saying this, I also find that they really treat my hair and have kept it in tip top condition!

Since the Dove conditioner ran out at the beginning of the month, I decided to purchase an old favourite the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle! I must have gone through at least 10 bottles of this in the past five years and it’s definitely my favourite. It makes my hair feel, smell and look amazing! If you haven’t tried then you need too!

I feel like perfume is one of the items that not many people talk about in empty product blogs or videos. However, I recently finished the Vivienne Westwood Boudoir perfume. I’m a big lover of perfume and fragrances, and this is definitely one of the best. I find this to be very sophisticated, but it works for people under 30 too. I’m not going to lie, at first the smell is a little unusual and over-powering, but it settles into a beautiful, soft scent that lasts all day!

My last item that I finally used up is the Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray! After seeing this product all over YouTube, I decided to make the purchase of the smaller spray and then received the larger one as a gift! I keep the small one in my work bag for when I need a hydrating boost but the larger one I used for morning and evening after I moisturise! I really enjoyed using this, it’s refreshing and brightening and the product comes out in the perfect spritz!

I think this month was a good month for using up products that I love, and I will definitely be repurchasing most of these items! What products have you used up recently? Let me know on Twitter @Emstagramr!

  1. So much love for empties posts! I always find them so interesting to read and see what everyone gets up too. I didn’t realise that Mac offers a free product on the return on empties!

  2. I love reading empties posts. I do need a large bottle of the 3 Minute Miracle especially for the summer x

  3. You make that shampoo and conditioner sound really good, I don’t even know if they sell Dove shampoo where I live to be honest, I tend to always just associate Dove with soaps and body washes. I’m the complete opposite to you though, I always run out of my shampoo way before conditioner!
