Since spring has sprung, I thought it was time for some new makeup. I can tell already that spring is going to be another season of light dewy makeup, so I thought I should adhere to the trend. At the moment, I can’t get enough of bronze products that feel like they’re bringing life back into my skin, so you may see a trend throughout this haul!
Let’s start with base. Moisturised skin is my key to getting a dewy makeup look, so why not purchase two? The first being The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA. There’s been so much hype behind this brand, I thought I should test something from them out. So far, so good! I find this works nicely as a night-time moisturiser, and I definitely want to try more of their products out! The next moisturiser is one that’s been on my wish list for a while now and it’s the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion; a lovely lightweight but powerful moisturiser. I’ve had this for about a week now and I love this! I simply apply two pumps of it in the morning after my face has been cleansed, wait five minutes for it to sink in and then get on with my makeup routine. I found this sits perfectly under makeup and makes my skin feel hydrated all day!
Sticking with the skincare theme, the next item I purchased was the GlamGlow Poutmud Wet Lip Balm Treatment. Again, since GlamGlow is such a hyped-about brand, I couldn’t wait to try this out! Like all their other products, the packaging is appealing, and the product inside certainly doesn’t disappoint! I apply this in the morning and it keeps my lips feeling so hydrated all day long. I couldn’t recommend this product any more!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll know that I love the Stila One Step Bronze and since mine was running low, I thought I’d go for something different, Benefit Dew the Hoola. Although I haven’t had this for too long, I already know that I love it! It’s so lightweight, and gently warms up my skin. I find it very similar to the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, so if you love that, you’ll definitely love this!
Next on my wish list was something I had never tried before, and only got it in the mail today so I don’t have too much to say about it! But, I thought I’d test out the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Tinted Gel Cream. From first impressions, I really like it! Unlike other tinted moisturisers, it hasn’t left my skin looking too greasy but leaves a subtle glow to my skin! Stay tuned on my blog to see my full thoughts on this!
It’s official, the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is my favourite concealer of all time. After testing some others out, I decided to go back to it and buy a new one! The consistency of this concealer is unlike any I have ever used before; it’s rich and creamy, and while not too thick, it has a very full coverage. If I could honestly only recommend one thing to you from this blog post, it would be this! You need to try it!
After treating myself to some more high-end items, I decided to purchase two old favourites; the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and the Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder. These products together, are a great team! The Stay Matte is beautiful to set the whole face, or the areas that I need to set, and the Match Perfection is perfect for baking under my eyes!
Finally, my biggest purchase for spring has to be the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in the shade ‘Bronze’. A few years ago, my best friend used this religiously and I always used to borrow it, and since it’s the season for glowing skin, I finally caved in and purchased my own! If you aren’t familiar with the Shimmer Bricks, they’re superfine pigments that reflect radiance and light; they contain five shades that can be swirled together to create the perfect bronze goddess look!
If you can’t tell, I love shopping for makeup and it’s true what they say, new makeup really is the best!
After my crazy shopping spree, I don’t think I will be making many more purchases this month, but be sure to let me know your most recent buys on twitter @emstagramr, or in the comments below!
