In the world of lipsticks, there are so many to choose from that it can be hard to find one that you love.
Recently, I shared with you all my favourite MAC lipsticks, but I now want to share my top 10 favourite lipsticks of all time, across a broad scope of brands.
Let’s kick start this with the Kevin Aucoin Matte Lip Colour in the shade ‘Uninterrupted’. This neutral pink shade is beautiful. It glides onto the lips smoothly and has a lightweight formula that doesn’t dry out your lips – a dream for matte lovers! I can swipe this highly-pigmented shade on in the morning and it will last throughout the day, but if I do need to touch up, it takes little to no effort to do so! I think this shade will work with any skin tone, so if you’re looking for the perfect muted pink lipstick, you need to try this out!
Next on my list is Jeffree Star’s ‘Celebrity Skin’. I couldn’t write a favourite lipstick post without mentioning a Jeffree Star liquid lipstick, they’re amazing. After watching him on YouTube for so long, I wanted to try out Jeffree’s liquid lipsticks. I started my collection with a few of his other shades, then his highlighters (which I also love), and finally, I received Celebrity Skin for my birthday this year. How did I not own this before? The colour payoff is not like any I have used before; it’s highly pigmented and I can easily paint my lips with one dip in the tube. The matte effect on this lipstick isn’t as drying as other liquid lipsticks that I have tried, but if your lips are already chapped, then I would perhaps stay away from this. If your lips are hydrated, then pick this shade up. It’s a perfect nude!
Moving on to a more affordable option, another favourite of mine is the ColourPop Lippie Stix in the shade ‘Lumière’. This is without a doubt my favourite ColourPop lipstick, not only in terms of the formula, but the shade is gorgeous too. I have a few other shades of the Lippie Stix and I love them. Their staying power is long-lasting, so I don’t find the need for too many touch-ups. If you’ve been wanting to make a Colourpop order for a while then definitely add this to your cart!
For this blog post, I tried my hardest to steer away from MAC lipsticks, but despite my efforts, I just couldn’t! Their lipsticks are one of my favourite formulas. I especially love their new Liptensity lipstick in the shade ‘Driftwood’. The Liptensity lipsticks are described as having ‘intense pigmentation that provides comfort for your lips’, and I completely agree! As soon as I saw this shade, I fell in love; I would describe it as a grungey nude with a slight mauve undertone, which I think is perfect for my skin tone. The packaging of these lipsticks is also a plus, as the shade on the inside is represented by the packaging so it’s easy to pick a shade when they’re on my lipstick counter. I definitely need to invest in more of the Liptensity shades!

If you’re getting bored of the nude shades and prefer the darker vampy shades, then this lipstick may be for you. My next favourite has to be the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the shade ‘Shame’, which I actually wore to my prom, so it has a special place in my heart. Although discontinued, this shade is lovely. A long-lasting, deep plum shade, which would be perfect for any skin tone. Since this shade is no longer available, I have linked a similar shade from Urban Decay.
Keeping up with the non-nude theme, the next two favourites are from the MAC Versicolour Stain collection (I told you I was addicted to MAC). I love these. If you haven’t tried them before then I would describe them as a very watery liquid lipstick, but in a nice way. These lipsticks leave a beautiful stain on your lips. They look like a gloss, but don’t wear off like a gloss. My two favourite shades are ‘Perpetual Holiday’, a deep plum, and ‘Let’s Stay Together’, a warm pink.
Although not technically a lipstick, the next product I want to mention is the Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in the shade ‘Pink Sherbet’. If you like a comfy, pretty pout then you need to try this. They’re moisturising, non-sticky and sheer – perfect for summer!

Last but certainly by no means least, I have to mention the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. The packaging screams luxury and the formula of every shade is beautiful. The first favourite is the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade ‘Penelope Pink’, a pink creamy nude. If you’re looking for a moisturising lipstick in a perfect everyday shade, then you need to pick this up. My final favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade ‘Very Victoria’; a brown-toned nude inspired by Victoria Beckham. The Matte Revolution Lipsticks have a very creamy and pigmented formulation, that lasts all day! If you love matte lipsticks, then this will be a good option for you.

I hope that this blog post helped you choose your next lipstick purchase, let me know on twitter if you’ve tried any of these shades – @Emstagramr!
